Beck

Yukio, known by his friends as "Koyuki", is a regular 14-year-old Japanese boy who enters junior high school with two childhood acquaintances. One is now a useless pervert, and ironically the other is a highly sought after female student. Koyuki's boring life is changed when he saves an odd-looking dog, named Beck, from some kids. Beck's owner turns out to be an emerging rock musician, Ryuusuke Minami, who soon influences Koyuki to start playing the guitar, and even gives one to him.

The story focuses on the trials and tribulations of their punk and rapcore band named BECK, and an important plot that deals with Koyuki's relationship with Ryuusuke's sister, Maho.

Koyuki, who was plagued by his boring existence, gradually matured through experiences with the band and began to discover who he really was.

A great anime and manga which circles around the band BECK and its members as they climb to stardom. The anime ends at episode 26 which is roughly about chapter 37 where they met up with Ryuusuke (this part is somewhat summarize in the anime but still good to watch). The manga is still running but has only one volume to release for it to end ( sad but still excited to see the conclusion). If you love listening to music, especially rock, then this is the anime/manga for you. The anime/manga also shows us how the music industry is being ran (yep, its pure commercialism baby).
